My son wanted a wheel to use on his PS2 for Christmas. I purchased this item for him along with PS Nascar 07. He has a few other driving games as well. My son has tried to use this wheel with his driving games and none of them even recognize the wheel as being attached to the PS2. Ive had no success in getting it to work. In contacting the company, there has been no help in figuring out what might be wrong with the wheel. I couldnt get a refund because it only had a 15 day return policy and I purchased it too early in December. (Partially my fault in buying too early and not reading the return policy.) Hey I just wanted to make a note... I noticed when playing GT3 that if you had the driving Aids turned on the wheel would kind of drive itself a bit and that caused the who feel of the game to be a bit funky... I bought this wheel a little while ago and din't really play with it much. But this week I got it out and was stunned!!
The handling is good and the wheel notices all the little movments you make!! Its not at tall lose so as soon as you move it you see it on screen! Bought this wheel after using a Logitech wheel for the PC and loved it, ... Feed back is a little inconsistant while taking large corners but you have to remember, this is a game not real life. Wheel response is more than acceptable for making your PS2 driving games more realistic ... Logitech pedal base could be bigger with better grip for whatever floor it is on. Based from my personal experience, if you are stuck ... buy the Logitech and let the wanna-be's have the Madcatz. first of all i bought this wheel on recomendation, and i regret it. you will try to go in a straight line gran turismo and you will end up some where in the grass, i gar-on-tee it. this wheel has ruined my life dont let it ruin yours, the only thing that was kind of cool about the wheel was the force feedback but it just gets annoying after a few laps. dont buy this wheel!!!!!!!!!!!! | 1 | Today | Logitech Force Feedback Wheel For The PS2
I was a little disipointed with this product. I had a higher expectation that this product was going to be like real racing, sorry to say fokes, but, force feedback only simulates real life force feedback it does not give real life justice. Other than that the wheel was ok, it deffinetly made my racing experiance a little more interesting that trying to race with a flimsy joy-stick. If there is anyone out there reading this review and thinks i am wrong, than please, after using the force feedback wheel, race in a gocart at masimum speed on a dirt road, or, race a nascar like vehicle sports car and you will understand what i am saying. | 3 | Today | Wild Ride!
The force feedback on this weheel is phenomoenal, althought it takes some adjustment to get used to the forced "sway" the car goes into at high speed straightaways! I unpacked it, hooked it up and was using it in (no lie) ten minutes, and I even made a mistake (make sure you hook it into the top USB port). these devices are tricky and are rarely usable across all game platforms, I don't care what they say. But Logitech has set a standard that I would hope other game manufacturers will follow. Just on GT3 it will take me weeks to adjust my cars, adjust my play and improve my score. I bought this to play along with Gran Turismo 3 because I thought it would make this better. I was wrong. The steering wheel is so tight that it makes it difficult to turn the wheel. Finding a spot to set it down is even more difficult. It takes a long time to get used to using the wheel and the foot pedals. It didn't make playing the games any better.
