| Product Reviews from Amazon.com (Rating System 1 to 5) |
| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Great game gear for computer. I was already using this product in India. I came to US and was wanting one to play my games. Race games, arcade / sports whatever, this plays good and great product to go for. | 5 | Today | Right Anolog Lost Calibration I had this controller for about a 3 weeks before the right analog stick went haywire. Try buying the ChillStream or even a 360 controller. I would not recommend this product to anyone. | 1 | Today | Really good service and merchandise The PC gaming controller came in good condition and worked perfectly ever after. It was shipped promptly and would buy again from this seller. | 5 | Today | Bet you did not know. . . Xbox 360 Controller
Bet you did not know that the xbox 360 controller w/usb connector works on the p.c. Also, most games are configured with the controller being the default game pad for p.c. Save time and money. Easy driver updates for vista from microsoft. Save a couple of bucks and calories- just do yourself a favor. Also the wireless controller works really well. | 2 | Today | Good Gamepad The Dual Action Game Pad is a good gamepad since it allows you to plug-and-play. It does not require any software with Windows XP. I was able to play NBA Live 07 and NBA Live 08 fine with it. I recommend this gamepad. | 5 | Today | Wouldn't suggest it It is a very nice controller while it works, the profiler is amazing and easy to use, but the analog sticks are made of a cheap plastic. As many others have experienced, the plastic that rubs off gathers around the base and prevents the sticks from easy movement. They will get stuck and be hard to move. Other than that, the buttons work perfectly fine. Also the cord can be rather stubborn, if it twists accidentally, you will never be able to completely straighten it, it always has a little knot in it. Try a higher quality controller, I mean come on, whats the most you are going to pay? $25? | 3 | Today | Excellent PS Lookalike For PC I have had this controller for... I don't even know how long anymore. It has performed wonerfully in anything I've tried it, nearly always with the default settings. I don't even use the custom Logitech software because it performs so well without it. It is getting close to needing to be replaced, and I'm looking at the wireless version with considerable interest. Easy to take apart for routine cleaning (and after all I've put the analog sticks through, a little maintenance can be expected)
Only possible downside is that the controller is slightly too small for my marginally large hands. Obviously these things won't be perfect for everyone, but the size is only hardly an issue. Definitely another quality product from Logitech | 5 | Today | both good & bad (mostly just blah) I purchased this to replace my mouse controller; I'll explain. I've tried various mouse controllers, trackballs, light pens, gel wrist pads and swivel arm rests, but none have ever felt as comfortable to use as a standard controller for a videogame console. Since I'm most comfortable with the PlayStation 3 controller, I chose to try this product on my notebook (also works with the average pc).
To set this up as a mouse replacement, go to the Tutorial, then the FAQs, then the topic "What is a persistent profile?", and from there you can also figure out how to customize the buttons however you'd like. The only catch is you have to have to activate the Logitech Profiler every time you turn on your computer, otherwise your gamepad won't register.
For the most part, this product is just okay and serves its purpose, but I will say that the joysticks can be frustrating in that sometimes the cursor will start drifting for no reason. Sometimes it will get so bad, I have to move both sticks rapidly until it stops. It's a minor inconvenience, but this suggests Logitech needs to work on making a better model. I mentioned this to them when rating the gamepad on their site, but I've had no response. I should also mention the directional-pad is one of the worst I've experienced, and the holes for the stick movement are square-shaped instead of round, and that's just plain idiotic.
The bottomline is it makes for a comfortable mouse controller, but I wouldn't rely on it for playing actual videogames. | 3 | Today | awesome controller This is by far the best game controller for the pc.Works great with my MUGEN and works great with my N64 emulators. When i plug it in my pc its read automatically with no need to put in the software.....at least for me . I'm using windows XP so i don't know about you vista users.Anybody tells you that this doesn't work must have an old run down pc. | 5 | Today | Flip a coin, will your analog sticks break? This gamepad was a replacement for my trusty Logitech Wingman Rumblepad, which died after a few years of service. I wanted to like this pad--I really, really did.
Modeled after the highly successful Dual Shock controller, minus vibration functions, this pad looked and felt great. Response time was excellent, and it was always a breeze to use in my favorite games and emulators--for 3 months.
Then, I began to have a problem. Occasionally, my aim/movement/menu selections would begin pulling up and to the left. The problem was sporadic, and did not seem affected by updating drivers or trying the unit on different computers (or even clean installs of Windows XP). The problem would just go away for a while, then come back.
One month later, the problem became permanent, rendering the controller useless. At the time, there was almost no information on the internet about the defects, and I chalked it up to bad luck. Thanks to Amazon and a few other sites, a disturbing scenario has emerged: not only is this product defective, it continues to be sold to unsuspecting consumers.
To all the reviewers who just don't understand why people are reviewing this game pad negatively, it is simple--about half of the people on here received defective units. I am genuinely glad that you got lucky, or that your pad hasn't died yet, but I cannot recommend a product with such a high failure rate to anyone.
Shame on Logitech for ignoring this obvious design problem and continuing to defraud consumers by selling a defective product. They should change the product name to Logitech *Disposable* Dual Action Game Pad USB. | 1 | Today |
